Spend your New Year’s Eve with Alex Battles & The Whisky Rebellion at The Fabulous Jalopy Theatre & School of Music. The band plays original songs about life, love, and traffic in New York City as well as covers by the “classic country” artists whose records taught Battles how to play the guitar. The band boasts old-time fiddler Kari of The Calamity Janes, folk-industrial songsmith Sammo on guitar, Tina Lama of We’re No Dentists and Jan Bell & the Maybelles on bass, and Smilin’ Charlie Shaw of The Whiskey Bumps and the Five Chinese Brothers on the drums.
The band plays from 9pm ’til midnight, capped off by a Pabst Blue Ribbon toast to accompany the traditional singing of the Robert Burns classic, Auld Lang Syne.
