Yin Yoga is an approach to the body that encourages muscular relaxation, which then allows a gentle stress to be applied to the ligaments, joints and the myofascia system of the body. In a yin practice we hold simple asanas for an extended time and allow the body to unfold at its own pace. The practice is a guided meditation into the deep layers of physical, emotional and mental holding patterns. Yin Yoga is long, slow and deep; this practice is appropriate for any level of experience and will bring a true sense of balance to any muscular, active practice. The essence of Yin Yoga is about listening to the wisdom, rhythms and subtlety of your body. We add elements of Restorative Yoga practice allowing the body to soften and recover making this a very special class.
