As a traditional art form, Indian Classical Music has evolved for centuries to get to its current form. In such a journey, there are naturally aspects and layers that one must unravel to fully understand the depth and richness of the music. While it is sufficient to have an open mind and a willingness to respond emotionally in order to enjoy music, a nuanced understanding of the inner workings of music, greatly enhances the appreciation and enjoyment.
