Bri Hawk is a NYC-based yoga instructor, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and former professional dancer. Bri has been practicing yoga since she was a child to complement her dance training and help her rediscover safety and trust in her body after years of battling chronic pain. In 2022, she received her 200-hour YTT from The School of Yoga Institute in Peru and has been teaching full-time since then. Bri has taught yoga to people of all ages and abilities at yoga studios, public schools, community centers, disability agencies, corporate events, and in one-on-one private settings.
Bri primarily teaches Vinyasa yoga, somatic movement, and arm-balancing workshops inspired by her training in Ashtanga, Katonah, somatic experiencing, and Hatha techniques. Her classes balance vigor and power with softness and ease. She incorporates breathwork, dharma talks, anatomical alignment cues, and both advanced and restorative shapes to help students push past their comfort zones while also developing an intimate and caring relationship with their bodies.
Beyond her teaching, Bri holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She works as a Clinical Psychotherapist helping adults struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, intimacy challenges, and more. Bri has a boundless passion for how the body can serve as an entryway into the psyche and our ever-changing minds. Through movement and breath, she explores how we can open our hearts and align with our true, authentic nature. Bri feels grateful to have dedicated her life to sharing the ancient teachings of yoga, to facilitating spaces of healing for others, and to being a lifelong student.
