Alexandra Ridout is a UK-born jazz trumpeter based in London and New York City. She won the BBC Young Musician Jazz Award in 2016 at age 17, launching an international career that has included performances at the BBC Proms, Montreux, North Sea, and Love Supreme festivals. She has received major accolades including the British Jazz Awards 'Rising Star' (2018), a Parliamentary Jazz Award nomination (2020), the Laurie Frink Career Grant (2022), Best Soloist at the Keep an Eye International Jazz Award (2023), 2nd place at the Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Competition (2023), and the 2024 Next Jazz Legacy award. Alexandra has performed with leading UK artists like Clark Tracey and Yazz Ahmed, and internationally with Renee Rosnes’ Artemis, Arturo O’Farrill’s Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Dayna Stephens, Jochen Rueckert, and Dave Douglas. She appears regularly at top venues including Birdland, The Jazz Gallery, Dizzy’s Club, and the Kennedy Center, and leads her own ensembles across the U.S. and Europe. Her debut EP Remote Duets was released in 2020, and her debut album is set for release in 2025.
