Your favorite (only?!) mid-Hudson Valley’s African dance party, @awdibody is back for the thawing season! Help us bring the heat and healing vibes to this land and these times in this welcoming & special party- think Sunday queer church meets African polyrhythms in a daytime boogie. Bring your whole selves and learn some of the dance moves sweeping Africa and the diaspora. We’re grooving in community in reverence to the magic happening the clubs of Johannesburg and the beaches of Accra and bringing the soul to Kingston! 

In Sierra Leone “Aw di body?” is a Krio phrase asking “how are you” — may yall’s answer be ~ Di body fayn

@movimientoconadri a welcoming dance class for all levels of experience and genders! we’ll get dancefloor ready at Unicorn Bar and dive into the world of Amapiano and Afrobeats with a little reggaeton flair. We’ll warm up and get loose and create a safe people’s cauldron of healing & liberated dance for the epic DJ danceparty to follow. You can expect follow along dance moves, improv dance, and a little (don’t be scared!) choreo <3

@thejamsbond with roots in Ecuador and Borikén, this bronx native DJ is masterful in genre-hopping and crafting the most energetic dancefloors. Co-founder of Kingston Techno, he is passionate about bringing electronic and world rhythms to the Hudson Valley community and beyond.

@anaoftheclouds is a Sierra Leonean-American DJ and producer creating spaces for pleasurable presence through event curation and sound. Under the moniker “Atta,” she mixes electronic, African music weaving sounds from Amapiano to Afrobeats and beyond. Her dance-driven sets are heavy on bass and hit deep in the soul. When she’s not behind the decks, she’s designing travel experiences throughout Africa and the diaspora.
