BRM’s Colors of Raga is a monthly deep-listening classical concert series. For our first one of the year, we are featuring Mitali Bhawmik, a prolific hindustani vocalist who will present an evening of classical and semi-classical music. She will be accompanied on the tabla by Mir Naqibul on the table and Santan Goswami on the harmonium. Doors open at 7PM, and the concert starts at 7:30 PM. 

About the Artists
Mitali Bhawmik had the privilege of receiving extensive training in Hindustani Classical vocal
music from Late Shree Ajit Dutta of Nogaon, Assam, Late Pandit Biren Phukan in Guahati of Assam, Late Vidushi Meera Banerjee the highly acclaimed vocalist of that time and Late Padmabhushan Pandit V. G. Jog the famous violin maestro. Mitali has also been receiving advanced training in semi-classical music from Smt. Dahlia Rahut, a senior disciple of Vidushi Girija Devi. She is the recipient of the 2021 Excellence in the Arts Award from the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission.


Mir Naqibul Islam is a New York based tabla player from “Farukhabad” gharana. Mir has been trained in the traditional guru-shisya style of Indian Classical music from Pt. Ashoke Paul, disciple of the great tabla guru Pt. Jnan Prakash Ghosh.
He is continuing his talim with the great Farukhabad Mastero Pt Anindo Chatterjee. His style has also been enriched by training with Pt. Gopal Mishra and Pt. Suresh Talwalkar in past as well.

Sanatan Goswanu is a harmonium player, vocalist, and Swartarang player. He was introduced to Vocal music by his Uncle Late Manindra Goswami who was the student of Late Sangitacharya Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri. Later on he started taking his talim from Pandit Dinanath Mishra. He took his talim in Harmonium from Pandit Maharaj Banerjee the son of Late Pandit Montu Banerjee, and took his further talim from Late padmabhusan Pandit V.GJog. He has performed all over USA, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East.
