Join us for Ghanani - غناني: a Palestinian women-led workshop to keep a beautiful tradition alive - the art of folkloric singing. Hosted at BOYFRIEND co-op, a queer worker-owned cafe/bar in Bushwick, in honor of Pride month!
Together we will learn songs of different themes - love, the homeland, and resilience. We will explore how our voices are simple yet powerful tools of expression. Singing experience is not required. Knowledge of Arabic is useful but not necessary. All genders welcome!
Event is free, RSVP required. Space will fill up so RSVP today!
This project is a part of the What Can We Do? Artist Grant program, presented by Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) and is supported by the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice.
