Brooklyn's Super Yamba Bandtakes its cues from 70s/80s West-African Afrobeat and Psychedelic Funk - they look back to artists such as Orchestre Poly-Rythmo, El Rego and Gnonnas all masters of the classic Benin Afro-Funk. legendary singer Leon Ligan-Majek a.k.a. Kaleta fronts the band and they have also played with West African musicians such as Ismael Kouyate and Daouda Diane.
