What is Bufo Alvarius?
Called the toad medicine, it is extracted from a toad (Bufo Alvarius), which lives in the deserts of Sonora, Mexico. The 5 MeO organic DMT, which is the substance extracted is also present in various genera of plants of European and Asian origin. In 1965 a team of researchers from Germany announced through the journal Nature that they had been able to isolate 5 MeO DMT from human blood. Subsequent research has classified the 5 MeO DMT as "the first human endogenous psychedelic," since it is not only found in nature but also produced by our own body. It has been scientifically proven that like other tryptamine, 5 MeO DMT promotes uptake of serotonin and melatonin, causing changes in the perceptual sphere.
