SAMHAIN

Dumb Supper Potluck & Ancestor Altar
Ritual & Drumming
Sound Healing with Lillie Lumina

As the wheel of the year turns again to the darker half, we gather to honor our ancestors and connect with the blessed dead.

This year, we each carry the weight of a cataclysm that has deeply altered our mountain sanctuary. Beloved people, trees, and creatures were lost; businesses and homes washed away; precious creations and dreams destroyed.

We are forever changed.

With ritual, we honor all that has passed and help guide the spirits of the departed.

With food, dance, drum and song, we return to the present and rekindle the warmth within ourselves and our community.

With reverence, we end the harvest with gratitude ... and prepare to rest, so we can realign and rebuild.

Suggested Donation: $20-$50

Dumb Supper Potluck :: The Barn

A folk tradition observed in silence, where we each bring a meal gather to honor our ancestors. Each table is set with an empty seat for each beloved who has passed, inviting their spirits to join us. In stillness, we open our hearts to listen—to the whispers of wisdom, memories, and messages that come through the thinning veil between worlds.

As we eat in silence, we reflect on those who came before us, holding space for the presence of their spirits and the continuity of life beyond the physical.

==> Dinner is a potluck. Please prepare a dish that connects you to your ancestors or lineage.
==> H&H will supply flatware, plates & napkins.
==> Please bring: your ceremonial drinking vessel & serving utensils for your dish.
==> There will be limited oven & stove space. Please do your best to bring a ready to go, self-sustaining dish (e.g. in a crock pot).

Ancestor Altar :: The Barn
A communally-created sacred space where we honor the lives of those who have passed into the realm beyond.

We invite you to bring offerings—photographs, mementos, candles, or anything that connects you to your loved ones—to place upon the altar.  These offerings acknowledge the ongoing relationship between the living and the dead, creating a bridge between the realms.

Together, we offer gratitude for the guidance, love, and protection of our ancestors, and we draw strength from the roots of our lineage as we navigate our own journeys.

Ritual & Drumming :: Ritual Hill @ Dogwood Court
Details about the ritual TBA

Samhain (pronounced “Sow-in”)

Marks the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. In Celtic tradition, it is considered the most significant festival of the year, a time when the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds is thinnest.

On this night, we honor the cycle of life and death, recognizing that with every ending comes the promise of rebirth. Samhain invites us to embrace the darker half of the year, where rest and introspection are as necessary as growth. We gather in ritual to honor those who have passed, to reflect on what is no longer, and to prepare ourselves for the renewal that awaits in the seasons to come.

== Sisters of the Red Moon Temple ==

The Sisters of the Red Moon Temple are ritual keepers and ceremony holders honoring the wheel of the year in its sacred cycles. Together, we co-create transformational experiences through intention-setting, story and song. We draw upon the traditions of our earth-honoring ancestors to weave the old ways into the new with reverence and celebration.

== A NOTE ON PRICING, ACCESSIBILITY & REFUNDS ==

Update Post-Hurricane Helene:

The Hawk operates differently than other venues, which means our financial reality is different too. We are small, independent and non-alcoholic space, which means we have to charge more for tickets to make our numbers work.

We love producing shows for the community -- and it's financially risky. We value both accessibility for the community and paying our artists & crew what they ask, while caring for the land as well. It's a continuous balancing act.

==> Low on cash?
If you’d like to join us but are low on cash, please email us at [email protected] & let us know what you CAN offer

We reserve discounted spots available for those who need them, including BIPOC & economically disadvantaged groups.

==> Can you support?
Conversely, if you are in abundance & can offer extra, there is an option for an optional "GRATUITY" on the ticket page.

A $5 tip is automatically added but can be adjusted up, down or removed. Tips are shared equally amongst the community crew who produce the event. Thank you for helping make this dream work!

==> Financial Transparency
We know coming to our shows is an investment, of both your time and money. Here is a rough breakdown of where your money goes when you buy a ticket.

Of a $40 donation:
$10 goes to the artists
$10 goes to outside production partners
$10 to the Hawk's community crew
$10 to the venue
$4 covers credit card & ticketing fees

==> REFUNDS & RESALE: Refunds are not available. If you wish to re-sell, we recommend using the Facebook event page associated with this show. The Hawk also moderates a Telegram group. If you are buying tickets from people online, *please check with us first* to make sure they are genuine. Ticket scammers are becoming increasingly common on social platforms. We will not refund a ticket if you are scammed!
