Tarun is one of India's outstanding masters of the santoor, chosen by his guru Ravi Shankar to perform on his Chants of India CD. He has over 100 recordings to his credit both as a solo performer and collaborator with many of India's finest musicians.
Mir has trained in the traditional guru-shisya style of Indian Classical music with Pt. Ashoke Paul, disciple of the great tabla guru Pt. Jnan Prakash Ghosh. He continues his talim with the great Farukhabad Mastero Pt Anindo Chatterjee.
