These are group sitar classes held at Chhandayan.
The payments options are set up for a month's registration. Please use the accurate payment option based on the number of Tuesdays in the month. If you are registering in the middle of a month, please choose the option based on the remaining Tuesdays in the month. Please know that Chhandayan remains closed on holidays like Christmas. Fortunately, Tuesdays avoid most of the national holidays.
Classes are held on every Tuesday from 6 to 7 pm. Once we receive your registration, we will contact you and confirm your class.
RADHIKA SAMSON (SITAR PLAYER)
Radhika Samson is a reputed sitar artist of the young generation. She has been under the able guidance of the world-renowned Hansaveena maestro Pandit Barun Kumar Pal, a senior disciple of Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar. She has been under the traditional guru-shihsya paramara (master-disciple grooming) with her guru, studying at the Ravi Shankar Institute of Music and Performing Arts established in New Delhi.
Radhika has performed at several prestigious platforms in the past, which have been appreciated by audiences and critics alike. She has performed in New Delhi at the Ravi Shankar Centre as part of the George Harrison Festival. She has had the privilege of performing with her guru Pt. Barun Pal on several occasions. She has successfully performed at festivals in India and abroad.
Radhika has been in the faculty of Sitar at Sadhana School of Music, Dance and Arts. She is also training several young talents in Indian Classical Music at The Mother's International School, Aurobindo Ashram, Delhi Branch. As a dedicated and devoted artist she wishes to carry forth the rich tradition of Music of India with sincere commitment.
Owing to her affinity and natural inclination towards the Dhrupadi Ang of Indian Classical Music, in the year 2019, Guru Pandit Barun Kumar Pal ji formally blessed and initiated Radhika with the ancient instrument, the Surbahar. Past
