Tatreez Workshop: Stitching History, Identity, and Resistance Join us for a beginner-friendly tatreez workshop, where we’ll explore the powerful tradition of Palestinian embroidery as a living form of art, language, and resistance.
We’ll begin with a conversation on the history of tatreez: from its ancestral roots to its role in contemporary Palestinian movements and storytelling. Together, we’ll reflect on how embroidery is more than craft: it’s a way to carry memory, mark place, and express identity under occupation and in diaspora.
Participants will then learn the basics of tatreez using aida fabric and beginner-friendly motifs that will be provided. Whether you’ve never threaded a needle or you’re returning to the practice, this workshop is a space to connect, reflect, and stitch in community.
No prior experience needed, come learn for the first time or bring something you are working on to stitch in community All materials provided Open to all levels and backgrounds
