Vinnie Sperrazza is a Brooklyn-based jazz drummer. He has made a mark on the New York jazz community with his swinging, enthusiastic playing and his commitment to original projects.
He is a member of Michael Formanek's Drome Trio, the Hank Roberts Trio and Hank Roberts Sextet, Ethan Iverson Pepperland Band, and many independent jazz groups. He has released acclaimed recordings as a leader on Fresh Sound, Loyal Label, and Positone Records.
Tonight, Sperrazza brings an all-star trio featuring bassist Vicente Archer (Robert Glasper, John Scofield) and pianist Ethan Iverson (Billy Hart, founding member of the Bad Plus) to Barbes for a set of his original compositions, heard great effects on his recent album Saturday (Fresh Sound Records).
