Organizer Camila Celin Host Adam Harris As part of Women's Raga Massive annual festival, Brooklyn Raga Massive and The Assemblage John Street present "Rasa Ensemble," a sonic multicultural exploration of Indian Classical hindustani music and mostly but not limited to latin and Cuban rhythms. In addition to exploring this two very distinct sounds, The Rasa Ensemble is also an exploration of sonic sacred spiritual sentiments hailing from Cuba and India. In this exploration of sound and culture, Camila Celin (Sarod and Guitar) is joined by Cuban singer Melvis Santa, Rufus Cappadocia (Cello), James Labrosse (Guitar) and Tripp Dudley (Tabla and Percussion). Each member, being a soloist in their own right, brings diffrent sonic elements from around the world. Raging from Jazz, african, arabic, funk, Cuban and Indian music, "Rasa Ensemble" is a phenomena that can only take place in NYC, where artists from all over the world and with different backgrounds come together to create soundscapes that have never been heard before.
