Yotoco is an NYC-based Latin band playing the music of Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Colombia. Lead by the cuatro guitar, the national instrument of Puerto Rico. Yotoco’s music is unique and danceable and has been firing up the NYC world music scene for the last 7 years. Yotoco’s performance is a trip through the Puerto Rican seis chorriao sung in decima espinela then passing through Cuban guaguanco, guajira, y son, then going over to the Colombian Cumbia and arriving at the rapid-fire heavy NYC salsa. Yotoco’s members are drawn from the thriving NYC world music ecosystem.  Yotoco is named after the town of Yotoco, Colombia.
