Sparrow Lore is a jazz trio consisting of Jef Brown (guitar) Max Liebman (bass) and Aidan Samp (drums). The group plays original compositions fusing contemporary jazz techniques with ancient forms of ritual rhythms and arrangements that have room to be expanded through collective improvisation.
Atabeya provides a spicy blend of roots music with a fresh outlook. Pulling influence from many rhythms and tonalities of the African and Latin diasporas in the Americas as well as popular modern West African styles ranging from Haitian Jazz/Kompa, Cumbia, and Bachata to Afrobeat, Saharan Blues/Rock, and Soukous all mixed in with funky rhythms and psychedelic sounds to make for an all-encompassing, cerebral musical experience that is also irresistibly danceable."
