Described as “Mesmerizing, intricate, anthemic” and “one of New York’s most eclectic, interesting oudists” (NY Music Daily), Brian Prunka has spent the last 30 years honing his brand of intricate yet lyrical compositions and reflective improvisations, drawing on his love of jazz, Arabic oud, and intimate chamber music. For this group, four of his regular collaborators over the past two decades—each with impeccable credentials in a multitude of traditions—form a traditional string quartet playing a set of new music composed for oud, string quartet, and percussion.
