Moving your body is a fast track to freeing your mind, and this therapeutic dance practice is born out of a decade of doing just that. Facilitator Hilary Cadigan will lead a meditative dance session for these troubled times, designed to help you release whatever you're stuck holding onto and leave it behind on the dance floor.
No choreography, no judgments, no expectations — this is a safe and loving space to drop in and let go among likeminded weirdos. We start slow, get fast, then go back down to slow. There will be some guidance to get you into the groove and help you make the most of the practice, but we're not dancing to new age spa music here. Expect to sweat. Expect some Cardi B. Expect to leave feeling WAY BETTER than you did when you came in.
We'll start promptly at 7pm and end at 8:30, so please arrive on time or a few minutes early so we can all begin together. We'll dance for about an hour and 15 minutes, with a bit of extra time for warm-up and cool-down.
This space is femme-centered but not femme-exclusive — all are welcome to come and move, as long as you commit to maintaining the safety and comfort of femme and nonbinary folks. No leering, no touching without consent, and (my promise to you) no awkward forced partner activities. Oh, and no talking or phones on the dance floor, please :)
Wear whatever you feel comfy dancing in. Bring water. I love you.
