Join us for Dance Lab in the Hudson Valley at The Kiva in Stone Ridge, NY for a deeply transformative evening of Ecstatic Dance, where movement becomes a form of pure expression.

This is a substance-free, judgement-free, intuitive dance environment for people to move freely, express themselves, and experience dance as a form of meditation, connection, and celebration.

We'll start with a warmup in Contact Improvisation with Lillian Stamey, and then DJ Omar Aena will take us on an immersive journey with his soulful beats from mystical music traditions from across the globe. You’ll have the chance to connect deeply into your body, explore the boundaries of your movement, and connect into your creative spirit.

All are welcome! This is a safe and inclusive space where you are free to dance, explore, and connect with yourself and others—no prior experience needed, just come as you are.

About the Artists:

🎧 DJ Omar Aena is a cultural storyteller, community weaver, and DJ whose sets are portals between worlds. 🌍🎶

Omar bridges traditional songs of the past with the electronic pulse of the present, creating an ecstatic soundscape that spans cultures and awakens spirit. Guided by his Middle Eastern heritage and the Sufi path, he curates a journey from slow and grounded rhythms, through ecstatic peaks, and into the soft stillness that follows.

Founder of Dance Beyond NYC, and creator of the LILA Series exploring devotional music around the world, Omar brings decades of experience in transforming dance floors into temples of truth.

About The Opening Workshop: This all-levels Contact Improvisation warm-up invites an exploration of somatic listening and relational attunement through touch and movement. We’ll work with elements of weight, transitions in and out of contact, and connection to both internal and external ground. The class offers practical CI skills alongside space for natural, intuitive movement and personal exploration.
