The only group of its kind in NYC, The NY Arabic Chorus showcases the beauty and depth of Arabic music in a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary sounds. Under the direction of Mona Miari, the choir brings together voices from diverse backgrounds to create an unforgettable experience that bridges cultures and celebrates unity through music.

About BK Maqam:
Brooklyn Maqam is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and supporting new community-rooted Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) musical traditions by uniting both established and emerging musicians, music learners, and audiences through affordable and high-quality concerts, informal jams, workshops, classes and innovative musical projects.

About Artistic Director Mona Miari:
Mona Miari is an internationally renowned Palestinian-American artist, singer, and songwriter known for her profound artistry and dedication to elevating Arabic music globally. Based in New York City, she seamlessly blends Palestinian and Levantine heritage with diverse influences, captivating audiences worldwide.

She has graced prestigious stages, including Lincoln Center, BAM, Opera America, and The Great American Music Hall, and made history as the first Arab singer to perform at Boston’s Hatch Memorial Shell. A headliner at major festivals such as BRIC - Celebrate Brooklyn.

Mona’s artistry extends beyond performance, with high-profile collaborations with renowned international artists that have resulted in a series of extraordinary musical and artistic projects, each reflecting her global influence and visionary approach, reinforcing her role as a key figure in cross-cultural musical dialogue.
