Introducing the Olio Sound Salon!

The premise is simple:
One album.
On vinyl.
Start to finish.
No skips.
As the artist intended.
You and your peoples + new friends
Chat. Dance. Sing.

Run of show
We'll start the evening with some question prompts over drinks at the bar and get settled into the room. Rob will give a brief intro to the record and share some miscellaneous records that connect to or inspired Bad Bunny's Debí Tirar Más Fotos. We'll spin the album in its entirety while leaving room for questions and conversation throughout. One room will be dedicated to listening and the other to dancing and chatting.

After the album, you'll get a list of tracks and albums that relate to Debí Tirar Más Fotos, so you'll have anti-algorithm sources straight from a DJ to keep your musical deep dive going after the event.

About Rob, our DJ and Facilitator for the evening:

Robert Michelin is a native Brooklynite, educator, percussionist, ethnomusicologist, avid record collector, and father.

He earned his MMus in Ethnomusicology at the University of London and his MS in Education at Brooklyn College, and began his post-secondary studies as an Eph at Williams College.

As a performing artist, he has shared the stage with Bernard Woma, Obo Addy, KweYao Agyapon, Paul Winter, the Mujuru brothers, Sekou Sundiata, David Pleasant, Abby Dobson, Tito Fuentes, and Crispin Robinson, to name a few. His artistic mission is to help us understand that we have more in common than we have differences.

What Is an Olio?

Think Olio is an ongoing experiment in lifelong learning. We are a community of open-minded people who gather to exchange ideas with new friends and connect over art, literature, and philosophy.

Our $30 membership gives you two events for the price of one!

An Olio is what we call the social learning events we’ve been organizing since 2015. A blend between a lecture and a house party, Olios are led by a teacher who loves sharing their passions and the room is filled with curious, open-minded New Yorkers.

Our goal is to spark new perspectives, ignite curiosity, and enjoy ourselves socially—an alternative to typical nightlife options.
