Oren Ambarchi arrives from Berlin for two nights only — his first US performances since 2020. The first of two evenings with Ambarchi celebrates two new Kou Records releases.

Oren Ambarchi will perform solo material from his new record Prophetic Perfect Tense , and Randall Dunn will perform solo material from his new record Manifold of Partially Actualized Realities. An artist conversation will conclude the evening.

Oren Ambarchi is an Australian multi-instrumentalist and musical polymath whose practice centers on the extended possibilities of the guitar. A prolific solo artist and consummate collaborator, he has performed and recorded with a diverse array of artists across three decades — notably with the Ghosted trio alongside Johan Berthling and Andreas Werliin, and his ongoing trio with Keiji Haino and Jim O'Rourke.

His remarkable output since the 90s includes Suspension (2002), Grapes From The Estate (2004), Audience Of One and Sagittarian Domain (both 2012), Quixotism (2014), Hubris (2016), Simian Angel (2019), and Shebang (2022). In recent years his longform compositions have grown increasingly ambitious, featuring many collaborators and demonstrating a slippery capacity for stylistic shapeshifting while retaining his singular musical language.

This fall Ambarchi releases Prophetic Perfect Tense on Kou Records, his most recent chapter in an ever-expanding body of work.

Since 2009 he has run Black Truffle Records, an Australian label for experimental, improvised, and unclassifiable music, with over 150 releases to date.

Randall Dunn moves fluidly between producing records, composing scores, and directing sound for film. Once hailed as 'the underground metal superstar producer' for early work with Sunn O))), Earth, and Boris, he is a critically acclaimed engineer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose path began in 1990s Seattle, where he studied sound design for film and developed lasting collaborations with Eyvind Kang, Wayne Horvitz, and others under the mentorship of Jack Endino.

In 2017 he founded Circular Ruin in New York, which has become the engine behind his film and experimental work — including scores for Panos Cosmatos, Candyman, Benny Safdie's The Curse, and projects with Guillermo Del Toro and Harmony Korine. His record productions include acclaimed albums by Marissa Nadler, Zola Jesus, Jim Jarmusch (SQÜRL), Kali Malone, Annea Lockwood, and Oneohtrix Point Never.

This fall Dunn releases Manifold of Partially Actualized Realities on Kou Records, his most ambitious solo work to date, that draws on the full arc of his practice across studio, composition, and collaboration.
