Robert Mac Vega is a trumpeter, composer, and bandleader based in Brooklyn, New York. They have performed at venues including The Jazz Gallery, Dizzy’s Club, Roulette Intermedium, Ornithology, and Bar Bayeux. Vega has collaborated with artists such as Nasheet Waits, Jason Moran, Neta Raanan, the late Ralph Peterson, and many more, while contributing to projects including two forthcoming releases on Giant Step Arts. Leading ensembles from trio to large groups, they present a sound shaped by Black American music, modern improvisation, and their upbringing in Miami. Vega’s debut album is set for release in early 2026. Outside of music, they enjoy reading, fishing, writing poetry, and spending time with loved ones.
