Skylar Tang is an artist from the San Francisco Bay Area known for her dynamic trumpet playing and composing. Fresh to the scene, Skylar has emerged as one of New York’s brightest young voices, having shared the stage with world-renowned artists such as Joshua Redman, Rufus Reid, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. She was featured on Joshua Redman’s latest Blue Note album, Words Fall Short. Skylar recently completed a 2-month residency at the World Expo in Osaka, Japan alongside her close friend and pianist, William Schwartzman. In her free time, Skylar attends both Columbia University and The Juilliard School studying History and Jazz Performance.
