Ukulele Ensemble is for anyone who wants to take their ukulele game to the next level. We will take a deep dive into creating arrangements for ensemble play, with a focus on performance. This class will cover rhythm, dynamics, and playing with authority, with tips for playing and singing at the same time. The arrangements will include parts for all levels and types of ukuleles. We will work on techniques for keeping things interesting both for you and for an audience. We will explore traditional ukulele music, and uke-friendly songs. We will learn a new song in each class, working on techniques to get off-book so that at the end of the class we will have a good selection of songs for an end-of-session recital.
To join this class you will need to know the basics of ukulele play, how to tune and be able to switch between chords. In addition to a ukulele, we recommend that you have a tuner and a ukulele strap. If you are an absolute beginner, we recommend that you take the Ukulele from Scratch class first..
