Elijah Wald has been performing for over forty years, playing a mix of blues, folk, swing, cowboy songs, classic Swahili pop, and the Bahamian guitar style of Joseph Spence. He studied and played with Dave Van Ronk, the Congolese master Jean-Bosco Mwenda, and the Black string band master Howard Armstrong. He has also written more than a dozen books, including biographies of Robert Johnson, Josh White, Jelly Roll Morton, Dave Van Ronk, and Dylan Goes Electric!, the source for the film A Complete Unknown, and his shows are an entertaining journey through all of that and more.
