Our secret garden at Rosa New York lights up again Thursday, September 8th for another round of worldly music with RASA.
We are so excited to present ALBA:
“ALBA” means ‘DAWN’ in Spanish. It’s when light breaks through the darkness and we get to start anew. “Alba” is also ‘AL’ for Albert Alabedra, guitarist and composer from Barcelona, Spain and ‘BA’ for Bárbara Martínez, flamenco singer/dancer from New York City.
Together, Bárbara and Albert have just finished composing a group of songs that are uplifting and vibrant and some describe them as healing, along with some popular flamenco songs. It’s flamenco, it’s Blues, it’s Jazz, it’s Funk. It swings and makes you want to listen all day and clap and move and say OLE!
Bárbara Martínez, vocals & compositions Albert Alabedra, flamenco guitar & compositions Luis Ossa percussion
The doors to the backyard open at 8pm; the concert begins at 8:30pm.
*We welcome musicians to join for a semi-curated open mic following the performance. If you would like to bring and instrument and participate, please reach out to Camila to coordinate camilacelin1@gmail.com
*This new series will resume bi-weekly so if you can’t make this one, please look out for upcoming shows every other Thursday.
