Chicago-based, nationally touring Laura Doherty acoustically rocks your kid’s world with breezy folk-pop tunes from her five Parent’s Choice award-winning albums, which feature her adorable puppet friends Jazzasaurus, Paulette the Purple Dragonette, and Domingo the Flamingo! Joined by her Heartbeats bandmate, Cat Tager, this upbeat, interactive concert will have kids dancing and clapping along to Laura's original catchy tunes!

Uncle Shlomo's Family Concert Series 2023-24From award-winning folk musicians to rock-n-rollers, puppeteers and pop stars, this family concert series is sure to engage, entertain and educate your entire family! Hosted by Brooklyn's own award-winning singer/songwriter Suzi Shelton, this monthly concert series features a diverse array of top notch musicians and performers from around the country who will share their backgrounds and talents with us. Nestled in the heart of Red Hook, Brooklyn, Jalopy Theatre and School of Music is a home for music and music-makers: a multifaceted arts space celebrating traditional folk music through live performances and communal learning. Concerts are approximately one hour in length and geared for families with children 10 and under, however everyone is welcome. Refreshments are available for sale.
This concert series is generously funded by Uncle Shlomo's Brooklyn Kids Music Fund in memory of our friend and mentor Shlomo Pestcoe. Proceeds from the door will go to the Jalopy Scholarship Fund.
