Danny Blume’s Big Red Flag is a fast paced low brow/high brow romp through the tangled jungle of Blume’s twisted mind - as interpreted by and filtered through some spectacular musicians with their own deep personal issues. Equal parts music, game, sport, improvisation, concentration, reckless abandon, and structure - Big Red Flag blurs the lines between performance and participation, band and audience, freedom and bondage.

Drawing from his love of such endeavors as Butch Morris’ Conduction, John Zorn’s Cobra, Bobby Previte’s Blueprints, and the long tradition of directed improvisation, in music and theater, Blume has concocted his own system of high energy high concept high falutin conducted spontaneous composition for the stimulus hungry low attention span world. Be prepared to smile and be called on to participate.
