Barzakh Café is bringing Fattah Ali Turab Ali Qawwal to Connecticut for an evening of traditional qawwali, bringing centuries of musical heritage and devotional poetry to the stage.

Join us for Sham e Qawwali, an intimate evening celebrating the timeless tradition of qawwali and the extraordinary lineage behind one of its distinguished contemporary ensembles.

The evening will open with Law of Love by Roshni and Sneha, who will present an opening performance featuring Raag Kalyani / Yaman, setting the tone for an evening rooted in the rich musical traditions of South Asia.

Direct descendants of the legendary Dehli Gharana—an unbroken lineage dating back over 800 years to Mian Sa’amat bin Ibrahim, the first disciple of Hz Ameer Khusro RA. Grandsons of the celebrated Ustad Munshi Raziuddin Ahmed Qawwal (Pride of Performance awardee) and sons of Ustad Ali Akbar Razi, they carry forward a legacy once nurtured in the royal court of the last Mughal emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar.

Having performed around the world with their father, they established their own ensemble in 2020 under his mentorship, continuing to evoke the rich, poetic, and devotional spirit of qawwali.
