Ustad Ghulam Abbas Khan is an exponent of the Rampur Saheswan Gharana, which owes its allegiance to the tradition of Mian Tansen. He is an acclaimed classical vocalist, receiving his training from Padma Shri, Ustad Ghulam Sadiq Khan. He has composed over 100 original compositions in khyal, and has discovered original raag's such as Raseshwari, and Mohini Bhairav.
He also presents originally composed ghazals in Urdu and Farsi.
As part of his USA 2025 tour, Ustad Ji is returning to Brooklyn for a second year with Roshni Samlal to present pieces from his gharana and original khyal compositions and feature some of his students and local musicians.
