Wingéd Monkeys began as an open communal collaboration, on February 25th, 2024, in the Hudson Valley, by seasoned theatre, film, & tv professionals. The very first event was a reading of a classic play, with 27 of the 40 audience members reading roles cold. It was a triumphant celebration of the magic of flying by the seat of your pants.

Next, we launched our series, Pieces: playwrights bringing original short works to the stage, rehearsed and produced with minimal sets, costumes, & effects. The bare-bones aspects not only spark the imagination of the audience, but allow us to bring high-quality & affordable theatre to the Hudson Valley community, furthering our goal of intimacy and camaraderie.

We have since had one-person shows, more live readings, and three other Pieces shows in Hudson and Kingston -- all great artistic successes that brought together brand-new and seasoned artists in collaboration to raise our spirits, stimulate our minds, and soothe our souls. Let’s keep our fight alive through our union.
