Hot Toast Music Company is the product of dad, educator, and musician Symon Hajjar who writes irresistible kids' music, all with purpose. Hajjar, or Mr. Symon as his students call him, draws inspiration from the curiosity and wonder of childhood. With over 20 years of experience in education and youth development, he sees songwriting as an opportunity to nurture an excitement for learning and help young humans develop a vocabulary to understand and explain their feelings. His music brings an easiness to talking about difficult or serious topics with kids, while also delighting in the pure joy children find in simply being silly.

Uncle Shlomo's Family Concert Series continues in 2023!

From award-winning folk musicians to rock-n-rollers, puppeteers and pop stars, this new family concert series is sure to engage, entertain and educate your entire family! Hosted by Brooklyn's own award-winning singer/songwriter Suzi Shelton, this monthly concert series features a diverse array of top notch musicians and performers from around the country who will share their backgrounds and talents with us. Nestled in the heart of Red Hook, Brooklyn, Jalopy Theatre and School of Music is a home for music and music-makers: a multifaceted arts space celebrating traditional folk music through live performances and communal learning. Concerts are approximately one hour in length and geared for families with children 10 and under, however everyone is welcome. Refreshments are available for sale.

This concert series is generously funded by Uncle Shlomo's Brooklyn Kids Music Fund. Proceeds from the door will go to the Jalopy Scholarship Fund.
