Chhandayan (a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization) is proud to present an authentic experience of Indian Classical Music in the heart of New York City. This concert series is designed to recreate the same setting this music has been presented in for hundreds of years in India: an informal gathering (baithak) where the invisible barrier between performer and audience falls away to create an intimate experience for both. This performance will feature three exceptional young musicians: Anirudh Srinivasraghavan - vocal Manav Khurana - tabla Rohan Prabhudesai - harmonium
Sitting: In the main room on the floor with back jack support, chairs in the second and third room. Dress Code: Casual, comfortable (suitable for floor seating); you will need to remove your shoes before entering the studios. Food and beverage: Only water is allowed inside the studios, but not available at venue.

Anirudh Srinivasraghavan is an Indian classical vocalist, carrying forward the rich legacy of the Gwalior and Agra Gharanas. With a deep foundation in Hindustani music, he has captivated audiences worldwide through solo concerts and innovative performances. He has been training under leading vocalist Pt. Dr. Ram Deshpande (a senior disciple of Padma Shri Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar) for over 25 years. For over a decade, he learnt solo Harmonium under the guidance of eminent Sitarist Pt. Ravi Chary, a senior disciple of Padma Shri Ustad Shahid Parvez.
Anirudh blends his classical music repertoire with a variety of Indian semi-classical genres such as Ghazals, Thumris, Bhajans, Natyasangeet.
He has been honored with the titles “National Sangeet Shiromani” at the Cuttack Mahotsav and “Sangeet Sandipani Ratna” by Patel Cultural Foundation. He was a recipient of the National Scholarship for Classical Music by CCRT, Ministry of Culture, Indian Government for 9 years. He received top honors at his alma mater IIT Bombay, the most prestigious one being Institute Roll of Honour – highest student award in IIT Bombay.
Anirudh has given multiple performances at prestigious institutions such as Carnegie Hall, NCPA, Kala Ghoda Fest (Mumbai), Philadelphia Ganesh Festival, to name a few. He is very excited to be performing his first solo concert in Manhattan under the aegis of the prestigious Chhandayan Center for Indian Music.
Rohan Prabhudesai has been studying Hindustani and western classical music for the past 21 years and more recently, jazz. In India, he started studying at the Goa Kala Academy and later with Dr. Kedar Naphade, a senior disciple of Pt. Tulsidas Borkar. He studied classical piano with Edwin Lopez, music director of the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian church music program and continued to study classical contemporary composition at NYU Steinhardt and Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. He currently is picking up jazz chops from Fred Fischer.
Manav Khurana is a talented young tabla player from the Farrukhabad Gharana. His musical inclination became apparent at an early age, and his parents encouraged him to learn Dholak, Piano, and other instruments. As a teenager, he was initiated into the world of tabla by his dholak Guru Shri Roger Sookraj. He continued his study of tabla under Shri Kumar Raj Gandharva and Sabir Hussain of the Punjab Gharana. Subsequently, he began his serious training with Shri Dibyarka Chatterjee at the age of 14. In 2023 he became an initiated disciple (shishya) of tabla maestro Pandit Samir Chatterjee. Manav has already performed with some notable performers of Indian Classical Music including Pandit Sugato Nag, Shri Biplap Mukherjee, Pandit Hindol Chattopadhyay, Vidushi Shahana Banerjee and his Guru Pandit Samir Chatterjee. Outside of music, he is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
