In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, The Human Experience celebrates what remains uniquely human—our capacity to feel, reflect, and connect.

Created by Ramya Shankar, Waves Within is an immersive exploration of the inner landscapes of life through voice, Indian ragas, improvisation, storytelling, and audience participation. The experience invites self-reflection through the ever-changing waves we move through—waves of abundance, waves of change, waves of surrender, waves of adventure, and waves of becoming.

Through guided vocal exploration, chanting, and deep listening, audiences are invited to connect with their own inner rhythms and discover how sound can become a pathway to awareness, presence, and connection.

The experience concludes with a restorative crystal singing bowl sound bath by Véronique Cannenterre. Throughout the performance, Barbara Nerness (Biosensorist)captures audience heartbeats and breath in real time, weaving these living signals into the sonic experience and creating a connection between body, sound, and shared humanity.

ARTISTS:

Ramya Shankar is an Indian-born vocalist, composer, sound artist, educator, and founder of Mukti Music. Blending Carnatic music, jazz, improvisation, and sound healing, she creates immersive works exploring consciousness, emotion, and human connection. Véronique Cannenterre is a Reiki Master and certified sound healer who creates crystal singing bowl experiences that support relaxation, reflection, emotional release, and inner balance.

Barbara Nerness (Biosensorist) is an artist, composer, and researcher whose work bridges music, technology, and cognitive science. Her work from the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University explores the intersection of sound, human experience, and technology, bringing biofeedback and real-time human data into live performance.
