Advanced Harmony Singing, A Two-Week Class with Emily Eagen

Sundays 11:30 am - 1:00 pm: 1/1 and 1/8
This class is suited for singers who are comfortable singing one-on-a-part and would like a real challenge. With an emphasis on duet and trio repertoire, we'll dive into great repertoire from American genres including country, bluegrass, blues, and contemporary folk, and also mix in songs from around the world including Balkan duets, South African harmony styles, and other close-harmony traditions.
We'll break into small groups from the get go, exploring all the challenging and fun aspects that singing in a small group entails. This includes holding parts independently, being able to dial into fellow singers and make a blended sound, feeling flexible with harmony parts and adding personal touches, being able to express and shape an arrangement together, and feeling confident singing in front of others in a small group.
