Chances R Good

Chances R Good makes music from the inspiration of the sun, earth, moon and stars.  The clay, water, fire and wind.

His music is categorized as "metaspiritual RnB" or acoustic hip hop or conscious folk ... he's been making and performing music since 2006.  His music carries a positive clean message good for the spirits of all ages and spaces...he is a son, brother, father and husband.  He lives at 8000ft in the shadows of the holy mountain.

Zondo

Zondo (Abraham Mellish) is a native-born son of Liberia who was forced to immigrate to America at the age of 15 as an asylee, due to civil war. In response to this struggle, Zondo found the path of musical expression, whereby he taught himself to play instruments (especially guitar) & write songs. He fuses traditional Liberian sensibility with American folk-pop to create a unique blend of sounds that transcends boundaries by speaking directly to the heart. Whenever Zondo plays or writes, the intention is an act of healing—while the message encourages us to resonate with love in the face of adversity. His performances unite people & ignite their spirits.  It’s a global place where melody, rhythm, activism, & culture intertwine.

Zondo, his wife, & their two young children are pleased to call Appalachia their new home—where he continues to create music & remains committed to sharing it with the world, through avenues dedicated to the liberation of all peoples. It’s not just a typical singer-songwriter project; it’s also a movement toward Restorative Justice, toward Peace.  As his fellow Africans have said it: Ubuntu!

== ABOUT HAWK & HAWTHORNE ==

The Hawk & Hawthorne is a practicing permaculture community & venue nestled just north of Asheville, NC. Check out the short video below for a glimpse into the magick.

Set in a freshly renovated heritage tobacco barn amidst an expansive valley full of fruit trees, homestead gardens, spring fed ponds & majestic views. The Hawk has been an organic gathering point for the Asheville & Barnardsville community for over 30 years, hosting hundreds of weddings, workshops & intimate live performances.

The community here is emerging in response to the challenges of our times -- drawing strength from folk traditions and each other to create containers for the emergent human renaissance to celebrate & grow. Through cooperation, music, crafting & regenerative agriculture practices, we are rediscovering our sense of belonging; to the land & each other.
