Lonely Street (Aron Weinbach, mandolin & guitar; Bill Christophersen, fiddle & guitar) plays traditional acoustic country music, from bluegrass and gospel to honky-tonk, and features the brothers-duet style of harmony singing popularized by such midcentury duos as the Stanley Brothers and the Louvin Brothers. Lonely Street has performed for the New York Folk Music Society, the Brooklyn Park Slope Jamboree, Colony Woodstock, the St. John’s Church in the Wilderness Concert Series and such New York venues as the Organic Grill and Silvano’s. Samples of their music can be heard on Bill’s CD “Making Tracks While I Can.”
Guest singer-guitarist Phyllis Elkind—a veteran of the New York music scene, a member (with Bill) of the country duo Bill and Phyl, and a frequent workshop leader at Jalopy—will join Lonely Street for a portion of their evening concert.
