**About Ranajit Sengupta:**

Ranajit Sengupta is one of the best sarod players from India, having performed worldwide for the last 30 years, representing his country. Though still young, he occupies a very respectable place in the hearts of Indian music followers around the globe.

From his adolescence, Ranajit, initially a child prodigy with the mandolin, established himself as a leading sarod musician after rigorous training under his teachers, the late Ustad Dhyanesh Khan and Ustad Aashish Khan of the Maihar Gharana. He is one of the youngest Top Grade Sarod Players from All India Radio & Television and has won countless other awards.

Ranajit has performed at many major music festivals and venues in over 30 countries, including the USA, Canada, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Greece, England, Scotland, Estonia, Russia, Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, and the Caribbean Islands. He has over 30 CD and DVD releases worldwide.

Currently, Ranajit is the principal composer and guest conductor for the National Youth Orchestra for Indian Music in England.
