ABOUT
Being born into a family of musicians, Shruti was initiated into music at a tender age of 4. Born in Assam, she spent her childhood training in Hindustani Classical Music under the capable tutelage of her father Shri Munindra Bujarbaruah. Later she has received rigorous and intensive Taalim under Pt. Vijay Koparkar ji for several years, who is a disciple of Pt. Vasantrao Deshpande and Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. She is currently assimilating nuances of Jaipur Gharana under the guidance of Vidushi Pratima Tilak, who is a prominent disciple of Vidushi Kamal Tambe and Vidushi Kausalya Manjeshwar who had learnt their art from the great Gaan Tapaswini Mogubai Kurdikar. Shruti also has received formal training in light music from her mother Smt. Sangita Bujarbaruah. She also enjoys lending her voice to an array of semi-classical genres like Thumri, Dadra, Kajri, Chaiti, Hori, Bhajan, Abhanga, Ghazal etc. She had also done playback for many commercial albums, including the Title Track of a Popular Marathi Serial called ‘Almost Suphal Sampoorna’ for Zee Yuva. Moreover, as she is originally from Assam, She also performs the unique folk musical form of Assam, called 'Bihu'. Being a ‘Sangeet Visharad’ and ‘Sangeet Nipun’ from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow, Shruti also has completed her academic education from S.N.D.T Women’s University, Pune and holds a Master’s degree in Music with distinction. Presented with many prestigious awards and scholarships, Shruti has featured in a number of music festivals in different parts of India such Mumbai, other major cities of Maharashtra, Pune, Delhi, Bhubneshwar, Calcutta, Assam, Ahmedabad etc. Her few achievements in the field of classical music includes- • First rank in B.A in Music in the entire S.N.D.T University, Maharashtra securing gold Medal with the highest Mark in Music. • Holder of “City-NCPA Scholarship for Young Musicians 2019” • Received the ‘Award of Scholarship to young Artistes in classical vocal’ from CCRT, Ministry of culture, Govt of India. • Received Scholarship from International Foundation for Fine Arts (INTL) Foundation, Mumbai. • Sangeet Visharad from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow. • Sangeet Nipun with Distinction from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow • “Shreemati Vijaya Ghate Smruti Puraskar 2019” from Pt. Shaunak Abhisheki. • 1st Prize in ‘late Pt. Govindrao Patwardhan Bandish Gayan Spardha’ in 2020. • ‘Pt. Rohini Bhate Smriti Puraskar 2020’ from Gaanvardhan Pune.
