Christy McNamara plays concertina and button accordion, and both his traditional and original tunes are some of the most beautiful haunting ever to come out of East Clare. In a rare US visit, he’ll share tunes and their stories, including originals from his recording “The Year of the Blizzard” (coming soon on CD/Vinyl/Bandcamp). He comes from a long line of musicians, including his father Joe who played with the Tulla Céílí Band as did his uncles Paddy and PJoe Hayes. His recordings include “The House I Was Reared In” (2007), and his book “The Living Note” received wide acclaim and features his photographs which have exhibited and received awards all over the world.

David Sidman has been flat-picking Irish and Old-Time melodies for over 40 years, including for the sword-dance team Half Moon Sword and his own contra dance band David Sidman’s Elastic Band. He also co-hosts the weekly Tue Irish session at Slainte in Manhattan. As a Jazz player, he has worked with the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra, Leroy Jenkins, Rahn Burton, Ken McIntyre and many others, and his band Speak of the Sun has issued several recordings of his own compositions and performed at major festivals and clubs such as the JVC Jazz Festival and The Blue Note.
