ABOUT
Born Montaigne P. Massac to a single Haitian mother in Brooklyn (Brownsville) New York, and raised in Far Rockaway, N.Y.C, Montaigne would learn to balance morals taught by his mother with his street smarts and survival instincts. He would later be known to his peers as Logic. On his search for a better life Logic would enroll into B.M.C.C at the age of 17 for Business Administration and later Business Management. With his social skills being as great as his organizing skills, he excelled at his hands on experience; via his student organization "Street Smart Movement" (founded by himself and fellow student organizers in 2004). This allowed him to network with business professionals and student activist, as well as encourage other students and "street" persons alike to continue to work at their goals in order to create a self made network of like minded individuals. It was at this time when he began to learn video and audio technologies. His self made experience and talents led him to work with and gain mentors in the "HipHop underground" / "independent business" crowd. He did event planing, promotions & marketing, and event hosting, for Lyricist Lounge as well as Lyrics To Go Ent. Montaigne "Logic" Massac then decided to get into the field of Youth Development where he taught music business in South Bronx high schools. He also taught life skills in Juvenile Jails. Around this time Logic refrained from the industry lifestyle to secure a steady income needed to be a self sufficient adult known to the youth and social work professionals as "Mr.M"; yet his connections in the entertainment world didn't fade. Therefore when his associate M.C Mighty Casey publicly known for his comedic Rap Songs (aired on B.E.T uncut) stated he wanted to shoot a movie / satire of the state of Hip Hop Mr. M. knew who to work with and already had good relations from past video work he assisted in producing. After a couple years of research, planning and writing, Mr. M would become the Executive Producer / Writer / Director and one of four main characters of "Chicken & Beef Presents: Monkey Gang The Mockumentary" and C.E.O of Chicken & Beef INC. Now doing business as (D.B.A) Film De Montaigne, Mr.M has been using his experience as a film maker to create films and video's for youth and other youth advocates. With his latest film being "Project BayGanda" a documentary about fashion designer/youth advocate (once his co-worker) Erica "Evarize" Varize's youth program in Oakland, California and Uganda, Africa. Bay-area women's wear designer Erica Varize; started "EVarize" with husband Darryel Varize 16 years ago. During this time the couple has owned the award winning "EVarize Fashion Cafe" the Bay Areas First Cut & Sew boutique, sold the EVarize collection exclusively at 15 other boutiques, Curate and teach EVarize "Sew What Summer Camp" in the BayArea and also Uganda, East Africa, and their most proud accomplishment raising their two children Darius 17 and Brooklyn 15. The family's continuous philanthropic work in Uganda is what Erica likes to call "our life's work". We have been so blessed with what we have it is our time to give back and use our gifts for greatness. EVarize is currently building a new collection that is set to release this Summer 2017, collaborating with Darius Varize as their lead designer.
