Senior most disciple of Tabla Maestro late Pt. Shankar Ghosh Professional achievements & experience- Passed "Sangeet Visharad" from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh in 1 Division in Tabla and secured 2nd position in 1986-87 Awarded National Scholarship by Govt of India, MHRD in 1986. Appointed as Tabla accompanist in the University of Delhi in 1988. Approved B-High grade artist of A.I.R. Kolkata since 1986. Worked as a Music Director in 3 Bengali and 2 Hindi movies. An accompanying artist in A.I.R. Kolkata & TV since 1986 including The National Programmes. I have the honour of accompanying several eminent artists of Sitar, Sarode, Vocal & other instruments for the last 25 years in India and abroad (England, USA, Japan & France).Have trained several Tabla players in Kolkata and Delhi as a senior teacher. A regular examiner of Biswa Bharati, Shantiniketan for the subject Indian Classical Instrument Tabla.
