Asavari Sharma is an arts & culture producer, writer, Hindustani Classical trained singer, and film-maker. She began @saltedroots - a craft media ecosystem to amplify grassroots stories about self, others, and the Earth through the lenses of food, music and all that nourishes us. A storytelling and digital strategy collective, gaining reach, impressions and profit for local small food business owners, nonprofits and cultural organizers, it aspires to evolve into a studio, financing and distributing innovative nonfiction and documentary projects in this niche. One such project is @musicunderthetunnel - an editorial journal and visual archive powered by @saltedroots from @asavarisharma — documenting under the radar music, arts and culture in NYC, particularly at @barzakh.cafe and beyond for the global stage. We explore how music can be used as a tool for free expression and social connection across our differences.
