ABOUT

City Stompers is a dance ensemble and music collective intent on fostering the living tradition of various American percussive and social dances. We create participatory spaces for music and dance where our audiences share joy through community and cooperation. City Stompers is led by Megan Downes, with Matheus Verardino, Sara Rowbottom, and Nicole Ball. City Stompers has performed at the Bronx Music Heritage Center, Caramoor American Roots Music Festival, Watermelon Pickers Festival, the Summer Hoot and Winter Hoot at Ashokan Center, Mick Moloney’s Celtic Appalachia at Symphony Space, Brooklyn Folk Festival, Franklin Park Arts Center and Jalopy Theatre.
