PYO Chai is a community-driven café and cultural space rooted in South Asian identity, creativity, and connection. Founded in 2021, PYO Chai has grown into a multi-location brand dedicated to creating a welcoming “third space” where people can gather, share stories, and experience culture through food, drink, and programming. Mission Statement: Our mission is to build inclusive, community-centered spaces that celebrate culture, foster connection, and create meaningful experiences through chai, conversation, and creativity. What We Do At our core, PYO Chai blends hospitality with cultural programming. In addition to serving handcrafted chai, kulfi-inspired beverages, and specialty drinks, we regularly host: Live music and acoustic nights Community panels and discussions Cultural celebrations and holiday events Workshops, pop-ups, and creative experiences Our flagship Steinway location in Astoria serves as a hub for these events, bringing together diverse communities across New York City. Our Impact Since launching, PYO Chai has hosted dozens of community-driven events, partnered with local artists and organizations, and served thousands of guests who choose us to celebrate milestones, connect with others, and find a sense of belonging.
