Shri Rajendra Prasad Bannerjee, born in a musical family, in west Bengal He began his training at the young age of five under his father, the renowned vocalist late Amiya Kumar Banerjee and his uncle Shri Purnendu Banerjee. His taleem continued under Pandit Maharaj Banerjee, and also he taken talim under the guidance of his guru late Pandit Dipak Choudhury. He also received the Master degree of Music with Gold Medal from Prachin Kala Kendra at Chandigarh in the year 1998. Rajendra, utilizing the nuances of both vocal and instrumental sensibilities, has one of the most dynamic and rich approaches to the Harmonium in his generation. The intuitiveness of his accompaniment enriched by his technical virtuosity and keen awareness of laya make Rajendra one of the preferred accompanists of the great vocalist and Tabla Players of India. He has shared the stage with greats such as Pt. Swapan Chaudhary, Pt. Anindo Chatterjee, Pt. Kumar Bose, Pt. Samar Saha, Pt. Shri Shubhankar Banerjee, Shri Abhijit Banerjee, Akram khan, Shri Parimal Chakraborty, Dr, Prabha Atre, Smt Kankana Banerjee, Pt. Rajen & Sajen Mishra,Pt. Pravakar Karlekar, Ustad Maskur Ali Khan,Late Pt. Ramaswaray jha, Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan, Pt. Samaresh Choudhury, jayateerth mevundi, Vidushi Purnima Choudhary, Sushree Shubhra Guha, Shri Omkar dadarkar,Smt. Koushiki Chakraborty, Smt. Ruchira Kale and others. presently working as harmonium player at Banasthali University
