A Journey into Sound and Stillness: Sitar Concert with Ustad Ikhlaq Hussain, invites the audience into a contemplative musical encounter—one that unfolds gradually, moving from sound toward silence and stillness, from outward listening toward an inner landscape.

At its center is the sitar of Ustad Ikhlaq Hussain, one of the leading contemporary voices of the historic Delhi Gharana. Through the expressive tradition of Gayaki Ang—the art of making the instrument sing with the nuance and emotional depth of the human voice. Ikhlaq transforms raga into a living meditation on longing, beauty, stillness and the search for the divine.

On the Tabla is the acclaimed artist Nitin Mitta, not simply as an accompaniment, but as a trusted musical partner in a responsive conversation of melody, rhythm and silence. Rooted in tradition yet created entirely in the moment, their exchange allows the music to breathe, expand and change within the space.
Set within the contemporary architecture of Redeemer East Side, the evening is conceived as a multisensory experience, where spatial intimacy, modern design and natural acoustics deepen the connection between music, space and stillness.

This is not simply a performance to be observed, but an invitation to listen deeply—to enter the space between notes and experience stillness as part of the music itself.
